Heading directly into the Stone Age
|The Schweizer Bodensee-Schiffahrt BSB. (Swiss Lake Constance Shipping Company) offers a new direct route into the Stone Age with the new Spring schedule. Starting on April 29 visitors can reach the Lake Dwelling Museum in Unteruhldingen directly from the Swiss shore of Lake Constance.
On weekends and holidays, starting from Romanshorn and Kreuzlingen, travelers can visit the „Lake Farmers“ on the German side of the lake. Starting May 26, the boat will cross the lake daily. Departure from Romanshorn is 9:45 am, and from Kreuzlingen 10:52 am. In less than one hour, the boat will land at 11.40 am in Unteruhldingen. The return trip via this new boat connection is at 15.35 pm; the BSB offers additional travel connections throughout the day.
Currently, a new lake dwelling village is under construction. It will be open for touring May 22. The Swiss Team of the “Lake Farmers from Phyn” received at their visit in Unteruhldingen first hand information about the Stone Age project on the German side. July 25, „Schweiz aktuell“ (Swiss current news), will broadcast a Stone Age documentary. This is a 15-minute broadcast running daily.
The Lake Dwellings of Unteruhldingen open daily between 9.00 am – 7.00 pm.
